r181 is going to be insane. I’ve been playing with it before release — and we finally have native Screen Space Global Illumination via in and . Live link soon.
I don't think we have good scenes showcasing the incredible features that SSGI provides. SSGI calculates how light bounces across your scene — colors bleed naturally from one surface to another. Turn it off, and everything looks flat and lifeless. To showcase it better, I added a color-changing toolbox . Notice how its color spills over the floor and walls in real time. The difference is night and day!
Here’s the magic: in night scenes, objects with emissive materials can act as actual light sources. Think infinite lights, glowing shapes, LED strips — all dynamic.
