Unique Jewelry: an Awwwards mention and the three.js homepage

Diamonds are the hardest thing I have tried to render, so it is a special pleasure that this project was recognized twice.

The moments #

  • August 12, 2022: Awwwards Honorable Mention for "Unique Jewelry".
  • October 2022: featured on the three.js homepage, together with Windland, VR Seat and the Canon concept.

What it is #

A luxury jewelry landing page with ultra-realistic diamond rendering: physically accurate refraction, dispersion and sparkle, live in the browser. You scroll through editorial sections and open a configurator to swap gemstones, metals and fancy colors, and every choice is remembered, so comparing configurations feels effortless.

It started a line of work that continued with the multi-diamond renderer and later WebGPU and TSL versions. The launch post is here, the page is live at webgi-jewelry.vercel.app, and the project is on its project page.
