A Toyota Supra that reflects itself, in the browser
· 1 min read · three.js, webgl, automotive, ssr, launch
A car is a hard test for a real-time renderer. It has curved glossy panels, glass and chrome, and the eye is very good at noticing when reflections are wrong. This demo was built to push how far a full 3D car can look in the browser.

What it shows #
- Materials and lighting that hold up under close inspection.
- Depth of field post-processing that softens the frame for a cinematic read.
- SSR, screen-space reflections, driving live reflections: body panels, glass and chrome bounce the environment and even reflect other parts of the car, in real time.
The point #
A focused showcase of automotive rendering on the open web: depth, shine and self-reflection, with no pre-rendered images.
