Hexaverse: an early metaverse city you can walk through

A stylized 3D digital city seen from above with hexagonal districts, a metaverse concept built with Three.js

In 2023 "metaverse" was a word that every client wanted on a slide. This project is my small answer to it: a 3D digital city simulator, a stylized urban world you can explore in the browser.

The city of Hexaverse

What it is #

It is a concept piece for immersive digital cities. You navigate the streets, discover districts and experience how a living city feels when architecture, atmosphere and interaction share the same WebGL canvas.

It is part world-building, and part technical showcase of scale and navigation on the open web: a whole city, rendered in real time with Three.js, with nothing to install.

What to try #

  • move through the streets and districts,
  • look at how the stylized buildings and the atmosphere work together,
  • check how it feels to navigate a large scene in a browser tab.

Try it #

The city is live at hexaverse.vercel.app, and the details are on the project page.
