Fun Wheel: reflections, AO and GI on a configurable object
· 1 min read · react-three-fiber, three.js, rendering, configurator, launch
A configurator has to render the object well and stay light enough to change it on the fly. Fun Wheel was a demo I made in 2023 to show what Three.js and React Three Fiber can do for configurable objects in real time.

What it features #
- real-time reflections,
- ambient occlusion,
- global illumination,
- configurable materials,
- strong performance, and an engaging soundtrack throughout.
The idea #
A small, polished case: one object, a few controls and the rendering quality that makes a configurator feel like a product. The steering wheel configurator from another project applies the same approach to a real product.

The demo is live at mancini-renderer.vercel.app, and the details are on the project page.
