Before three.js, there was the web. In November 2020 the new **Wish Hotels** website, developed by Neotix, was recognized in four categories of the **CSS Design Awards 2020**.

## The awards

- **Special Kudos**, from the jury,
- **Best UI Design**, in the popular vote,
- **Best UX Design**, in the popular vote,
- **Best Innovation**, in the popular vote.

The announcement was published on the [Neotix blog](https://medium.com/neo-tix/novo-site-wish-ganha-premio-internacional-de-design-e-inovacao-be8bba9678b7) on November 16, 2020. ## What was special about it

The brief was performance, animation and SEO, based on the concept of the brand: design, well-being, gastronomy and entertainment. Two technical choices I explained at the time:

- the site is **pre-processed and kept in RAM**, to reduce page load time,
- the CSS loads only what is displayed on the screen, so each page is lighter and faster.

It is the same instinct I still have today: ship less, ship what is needed, measure. You can see it in how I [make a WebGL portfolio readable](https://andersonmancini.dev/blog/webgl-portfolio-seo.md), and in the [performance posts of Threejs-Punk](https://andersonmancini.dev/blog/threejs-punk-fewer-uploads-faster-frames.md).

## Thanks

To the Neotix team, and to the hotel group that trusted us with the brand's new image.
