Three years before Paris, I spoke at **JS GameDev Summit 2023**, a GitNation event about making games with JavaScript. It was my first conference talk about three.js, and I like to look back at it.

## The talk

**Game Development with Three.js** is a 22-minute session about how to start making games with 3D libraries and physics engines: three.js, React Three Fiber, and the pieces you need around them. It is on my [GitNation page](https://gitnation.com/person/anderson_mancini).

I also took part in a discussion room, **The Future of Web Game Development**.

## Why it matters

When I gave that talk, "a 3D game in the browser" mostly meant WebGL. Since then, I built [Lantern Valley](https://andersonmancini.dev/blog/lantern-valley.md), [Graveyard Pinball](https://andersonmancini.dev/blog/graveyard-pinball.md) and [Threejs-Punk](https://andersonmancini.dev/blog/threejs-punk-racing-game.md), all in WebGPU and TSL, and they run on phones.

## The next stage

In September 2026 I [spoke at the first Three.js Conference in Paris](https://andersonmancini.dev/blog/three-js-conf-paris-2026.md), with a workshop on TSL beforehand. The thread between the two is the same: show that production work and games can run on the open web, and explain how.
